Resumes and Interviewing Skills

Introduction To Writing A Winning Entry

A properly created resume is the first and most important step in the search for a new job. Job seekers must get this step right. Our Program will walk you through this process and empower your personal strengths to land the job you want!

  • Resumes are the only window hiring managers have into who you are and why they should consider you for a position.

  • Employers reject resumes for many reasons, so don’t take it personally.

  • If you have effectively articulated your value, then your career path with that business has a better chance to be noticed. We will dive into “value” during this Program.

Target A Job and Stand Out. Resumes and Cover Letters must be targeted for the job and showcase your best qualifications within the first five seconds of looking it over. In today’s job market, businesses are much more specific about what they are looking for. Job requirements can be very granular, and if you have what the job needs, you must make sure they know it right away!

Interviewing Skills

So what is the purpose of a resume to get a job? No! It's to get an interview!

That old adage still holds true, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression."

Interviewing format depends on the employer. Employers may conduct various types of job interviews such as in-person, phone, video, group interviews, a skills test, second interviews, etc.

There are necessary interview skills needed in any format. There are hard skills and soft skills interviewers look for. Hard skills (knowledge of the job at hand) get you through the door. Soft skills are critical to hiring managers and landing the job. You do not always need to be the most qualified hard skills candidate. If you possess simple soft skills: a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn also give you the advantage to win!

RBE will prepare you for learning these abilities through an interactive process that embraces your individuality while incorporating interviewing fundamentals.
